We are a family band from Central Wisconsin and we love playing Celtic fiddling and singing original and traditional Celtic songs. We like to throw in a little Highland dance to liven things up a bit.
If you would like to book us for a concert you can e-mail us on the contact page or contact us via the GigSalad widget on this site. Just to make things easier, you can always call us at 715-683-2889
Our girls have graduated from college as music performance majors and are now taking on private students. Go to our members page and click on their links and that will take you to their bios with contact info for lessons. Joanna teaches both classical violin and Scottish fiddling and will take Skype students. Maranatha teaches all styles of piano. You can access their bios by also scrolling down this site.
We are excited about getting in to the recording studio to start work on our next project, “Harbour”. It will be a mix of traditional and original Scottish fiddling and Celtic original songs. Watch for it.
Have a great day!
Music has been my passion since I can remember. People say I was born with musical instinct! My primary instruments are piano and drums. I have been playing drums and piano for since I was little. Aside from piano and drums, I play a variety of instruments including accordion, bagpipes, a little bass, a bit of guitar, organ, and anything percussion including the bodhran.
There is one thing that sits above my love for music, and that’s my passion for Jesus. He is my guide in my life of music and He directs my path in life. Without Him, my music would have no purpose. I am currently working towards a BA in music in an online program called CollegePlus, which is a good way to homeschool college. My hope is to gain a career in soundtrack writing and performing. Arranging and writing music are two things that I really enjoy. I write some of the fiddle tunes for the band, but as a pianist, I hear from our fiddlers that my string crossings are murder! I have a YouTube channel where I’m known as, “theinventivepianist” you can get to my channel from here!
I also have a Facebook page for The Inventive Pianist. Feel free to give it a like!
That’s all for now,
Dawn is posting on the MPKBAND website for the first time so bear with me! Did I tell you that I wrote a book! It’s all printed and ready to be purchased at any of our events this summer! I promptly went to Uganda, Africa in May so have had LITTLE opportunity to get the word out. Oh well all in good time! Lord bless all of you!!! I’m almost done with the audio book also thanks to Steve Cox Productions! Here is the cover to the audio book!
