Joanna Johnson is a violinist and Scottish fiddler from Chili, WI. She recently graduated from Crown College as a violin performance major. She has been a member of the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis, the Crown College Chamber Orchestra, the Crown College String Quartet, the Wood County Symphony Orchestra, and is a new member of the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra. She has studied violin for the past fourteen years; firstly under the Suzuki Method with Marcia Jensen and most recently with Professor Jennifer Thomas of Crown College. She currently studies Scottish Fiddling under Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, US National Scottish Fiddling Champion, and Dr. John Turner, 10 times US National Scottish Fiddling Champion. She has regularly attended Jink and Diddle School of Scottish Fiddling led by Dr. Turner in Valle Crucis, North Carolina. She has been a member of MPK Christian Celtic band since 2006. She has been teaching violin for six years, four at the Crown College Academy of Music, and is currently available as a violin instructor for private lessons.
